First of all you should know that cats are so independent and temperamental.
If your cat is scared of you make sure you move slow around it, don’t give it to much attention. Ignore it. The more you try to touch it or make friends with it the more it will avoid you. Or you can try to give it treats from time to time.
The reason that cats often go to people who don’t like cats is that typically these sort of people don’t look directly at them. If you stare at a cat (even in a good natured way), they will perceive a threat and will not approach you.
