The hardest thing is to find a good movie. We don’t like to go to the cinema. We rent movies and watch them home because it’s much more comfortable. We are looking for movies that have PG rating and of course have a message or share a life lesson. My younger brothers have to learn stuff from movies too so they don’t do the mistakes seen in the movies.

When I saw the preview for All Roads Lead Home The Movie I knew that it is going to be a great family movie so I added it to the list.
The movie has a good cast and has already been the winner of the Best Feature Drama at the International Family Film Festival. It will be available on DVD on January 13th and I really look forward to seeing it.

This cats name is Mischief. He is one of the oldest cats that ever lived.
He has lived for 27 human years which is the equivalent of 127 cat years. He is probably one of the luckiest cats on Earth. Not just because he lived so much but he was also hit by a motorcycle in 1990.

Mischief is holding on pretty well for his change, his fur is still shiny but it looks like it looses a bit more hair than when he was a young kitten. Nothing fancy about him, he still looks like a normal cat but you can read his wisdom in his eyes.

Kittens and cats immediately begin to develop a mental territory map, as they begin to expand their explorations beyond the home boundaries. They also leave fresh scent marks with urine, faeces and from the scent glands on their head and paws. It would be rare for a kitten to brave a great distance from a known territory. However, explorations can become a feline adventure when an interesting fence, wall or group of trees is encountered. The excitement and fear is also heightened when another cat appears. If the other cat begins a chase in an effort to drive away a potential competitor, the kitten can quickly become territorially disorientated. If the kitten is chased back home, the experience is just part of a learning curve; if chased away from familiar territory, the consequences can be much more serious. With this in mind, it is always wise to supervise the early outdoor explorations of a young cat and keep in contact with it by using food treats, interaction and affection to keep it safe and close to home.

It is a well kept secret, but all superheroes are actually sidekicks for a cat. Cats have been responsible for averting quite a number of the world’s disasters. The fact that you have never heard of this before just goes to show how efficient cats are. They work to prevent disasters before the general population can even hear about it and panic.

Mantises are exclusively predatory and their diet usually consists of living insects; larger species have been known to prey on small lizards, frogs, birds, snakes, and even rodents. Most mantises are ambush predators, waiting for prey to stray too near. The mantis then lashes out at remarkable speed. Some ground and bark species, however, pursue their prey rather quickly. Prey are caught and held securely with grasping, spiked forelegs (”raptorial legs”); the first thoracic segment, the prothorax, is commonly elongated and flexibly articulated, allowing for greater range of movement of the front limbs while the remainder of the body remains more or less immobile. The articulation of the head is also remarkably flexible, permitting nearly 300 degrees of movement in some species, allowing for a great range of vision (their compound eyes have a large binocular field of vision) without having to move the remainder of the body. Mantises are masters of camouflage and most species make use of protective coloration to blend in with the foliage or substrate, both to avoid predators themselves, and to better snare their victims. Various species have adapted to not only blend with the foliage, but to mimic it, appearing as either living or withered leaves, sticks, tree bark, blades of grass, flowers, or even stones. Some species in Africa and Australia are able to turn black after a molt following a fire in the region to blend in with the fire ravaged landscape (fire melanism). While mantises can bite, they have no venom, and are not dangerous to humans. Protein

Dietary protein supplies essential amino acids and is needed for the manufacture of antibodies, enzymes, hormones, tissues, and proper pH balance. Protein provides energy for cats and is essential for growth and development. Complete proteins contain ample amounts of essential amino acids and are found in foods such as meat, fish, eggs, and poultry. Incomplete proteins do not provide all essential amino acids and are found in many foods including legumes, grains, and vegetables. Plant proteins don’t supply the essential amino acids that a cat needs, such as taurine, which come from animal protein. Cats need protein from animal sources as the amino acids from vegetable sources are not well utilized. Overall, cats have a very high requirement for protein.

Fat

Dietary fat is a concentrated source of energy for the cat. It also provides essential fatty acids and aids in nutrient utilization and transportation. Fat is involved in cell integrity and metabolic regulation. Saturated fat is found primarily in animal sources while polyunsaturated fat is found mostly in plant sources.

Linoleic and arachidonic acids have long been considered to be essential fatty acids (EFAs) for cats. More recently, DHA has been added due to its important contribution to feline vision, reproductive health, and the immune system. EPA may also be of benefit. Unlike some animals, cats do not efficiently convert plant sources of EFAs to the needed derivatives. For example, cats must eat meat to obtain arachidonic acid. Also, cats do not convert LA to GLA (as some animals do), but studies show that GLA can benefit feline skin and coat health. The cat would also consume Omega 3s and CLA when eating its natural herbivorous prey.

Minerals

Minerals are essential to the cat and are involved in almost all physiological reactions. They contribute to enzyme formation, pH balance, nutrient utilization, oxygen transportation, and are stored in bone and muscle tissue. Biological availability may vary widely depending on the source of the mineral. Elemental minerals are generally taken from the earth or water. Chelated minerals are those that are bound with other organic substances often making them easier for the body to absorb. Minerals include calcium, chloride, chromium, cobalt, copper, fluorine, iodine, iron, magnesium, manganese, molybdenum, phosphorus, potassium, selenium, silicon, sodium, sulfur, and zinc. There are other mineral elements required by cats at trace concentrations. Minerals, like vitamins, work synergistically. They have a cooperative action between them.

Vitamins

Vitamins are essential for metabolism regulation, normal growth and function. Vitamins are found in food and some are synthesized within the animal’s body. They’re classified as either water- or fat-soluble. Fat-soluble vitamins include A, D, E, and K. Water-soluble vitamins include C and the B-complex. Generally, fat-soluble vitamins are stored in the body, while water-soluble vitamins pass through more quickly. Once again, the carnivorous cat utilizes animal sources of nutrients more readily than plant sources. For example, cats cannot convert beta-carotene from plants to vitamin A (as some animals do), so they need preformed vitamin A from an animal source. Preformed vitamin A needs no conversion.

Water

Because cats are designed to fulfill most of their water requirements by eating fresh raw food, they naturally have a low thirst drive. This can lead to health issues for cats that eat dry cat food products and treats. One of the problems is that even though they become dehydrated eating the kibble, their natural “programming” may not encourage them to drink more water. And their urine can become too concentrated. Even though a healthy cat doesn’t drink much, you should always have clean good quality drinking water available to them. And please make sure it’s good quality water, which means tap water may be out, especially if your community puts fluoride and chlorine in the water supply. If you have well water, have it tested annually for contaminants.
